There is a common problem with WordPress when it comes to the security of your site!
I make use of Softaculous to install a WordPress installation wth my hosting service. This issue is linked to the setup of your WordPress installation where your username is the same as your nickname.
It’s quite easy for a potential hacker therefore to get the user login name which equates to 50% of the security login functions and making the work of the potential hacker a lot easier. In any WordPress site the potential hacker can simply click on any post that you have written or comment that you have left to be directed to your user profile and as in the image below, see your “username”.
I created a guide to take you through the steps of ensuring that your username and nickname is different and therefore protect your login username, and making it harder for a potential hacker to access your site.
